Breathing in the scent from lavender essential oil can help acute management of migraine attacks, palmarosa is great for tension headaches, Peppermint oil is one of the most commonly used essential oils to treat headaches and migraine attacks because it contains menthol which can help relax muscles and ease pain, geranium can help relieve hormonal headaches (yes, men get these too). Chamomile & Copaiba help in reducing a range of inflammations and pain.
Aromatherapy can have many beneficial effects on the body and mind. According to Johns Hopkins Medical Center, the practice of using essential oils for therapeutic benefit, when inhaled, the scent molecules in essential oils travel from the olfactory nerves directly to the brain and especially impact the amygdala, the emotional center of the brain.
